Afterwards there will be a competition as follows:

A LITTLE BIT OF AGM FUN!

Think of a piece of music – a composition or a symphony or a song, something classical or something popular, or any piece – and now think of how you might represent the name of the piece in a three-dimensional model.

Think of how to do this not in words, and not as a picture or a drawing on a flat piece of paper, but rather as an ‘installation’, something ‘constructed’, however simply. The model would have nothing at all to do with the content or theme of the music, but only the name of the piece itself, as if it were a ‘play on words’ perhaps.

I hope U3A members might be willing to take up the challenge! It doesn’t even matter if everyone thinks of the same piece – each person might well have a different way of representing it in a 3-D model. The model can be as simple as can be, and needn’t be large.

The competition is then for everyone else to guess, from your model, which piece of music you have in mind.

And there’s a good prize awaiting the person who guesses correctly the most pieces of music!

On the day of the AGM in order to have all the models in place, it would be good if you were able to bring your model(s) to the hall just before the start of the meeting. Or if it would help, I could collect it/them from you. Or if you’d like more information – or maybe need a little more encouragement, just contact the Tu3a secretary.
