When: Monthly on Tuesday afternoons 2:00 pm
Monthly on 1st Tuesday
Venue: Via Zoom

We meet on the 1st Tuesday afternoon of the month, usually over Zoom. Occasionally we will try to meet in person for a photographic outing.

The aim of this group is to learn, share, gain confidence, satisfy, amuse and enjoy; learning through doing and informal exchange of knowledge and experience.

The level of expertise and sophistication of equipment are less important than an open mind and a good eye for a picture.

Whether you are a happy snapper or a more serious photographer, you are welcome.

Each month we have a "photography assignment" on a particular topic. It is up to the individual photographer to interpret the topic as they see fit. We then share the images at the next meeting. See below for some recent examples.

  • Assignment - Bad Weather

Not TOO difficult a subject for a group based in Scotland. Here are a selection of this month's entries.

  • Assignment - A Chance Find

Open to however the photographer wished to interpret it. Here are some of the images that were classified as 'a chance find'.

  • Assignment - My Sport

This month's assignment was to showcase the authors' preferred sport(s). Here are a selection ...

  • Assignment - Strong Lines/Angles

An interesting topic with plenty of scope to come up with alternative perspectives on the theme of strong lines and/or angles. Here are a few of our members' contributions.

  • Assignment - Low/High Angle or Looking Up/Looking Down

This month's assignment was designed to offer alternative perspectives of the subject by shooting from high and/or low angles or, alternatively, by looking up and/or looking down on the subject.

We also showed images taken on the recent outing to Portmore to look at the snowdrops and discussed the capabilities of Apple's photo editing software and its ability to remove unwanted objects from an image..

Occasionally we may have a "photography group outing" and visit a suggested location to take photos as a group. We then share the images at a later meeting.

  • Outing - Dawyck Botanical Gardens

We are so lucky having Dawyck so close by. Spectacular at any time of year, this year the bluebells seemed to be particularly abundant. Here are some of our images.

  • Outing - A 'virtual outing'

This visit to a bluebell wood turned into a 'virtual outing'.

  • Outing - Kailzie Gardens

  • Outing - Dean Village

  • Outing - Historic Outings
